Profile of  Gopal P Mahapatra

Dr. Gopal P Mahapatra, working in Oracle India since Nov. 2004 and currently is Sr. Director-HR(Orgn. & Talent Dev),. Gopal, is a PhD (Fellow Program in Management) from IIM , Bangalore , India, preceded by a PG in PM&IR from Xavier Institute , Ranchi.

 Dr.Gopal brings varied experience in academia, corporate and consulting in Indian as well as Multinational Corporation in his more than 20 years of work endeavours. Started career with BEL, Associate Prof (HRM) XIM, Bhubaneswar has gone through significant learning phase in companies like: Corp HRD Manager ,INDAL(Alcan subsidiary),Head HR & MS at  Gujarat Gas, GM –Corporate HR  at BPL . Prior to Oracle,  he was Managing Director, TV Rao Learning Systems, a reputed HRD, Leadership and Change Mgmt consulting firm. His areas of expertise include: HRD, OD/Change management, competencies management, assessment and development centres, leadership development, 360 degree feedback ,   mentoring & coaching.

 He has been in the Advisory Board/ Academic Council of the Indian Business Academy, PES Institute of Management, RV Inst of Management, Bangalore Univ., Dept. of Sc and Tech, Govt. of India project on Industry Academia Interaction. He also been a visiting faculty at a number of B Schools e.g. IIM-B,IIM-A, IIM- C,IIFM, TAPMI.

He was As President, National HRD Network , Bangalore Chapter during June 2007-June 2009 .He has published several articles, including co-editing three books (Tata MC Graw Hill, EXCEL Books & Himalaya Publishing) and presented papers in International/National Conferences. His recent publication, Special issue on “Organization Development” as a Guest Editor with many Global and national OD thought leaders. He has participated in many national and international programmes including: ”Strategic HRM ” at London Business School, Appreciative Inquiry (AHRD), TQC by Japanese Union of Scientists & Engineers (JUSE), Tokyo & American Psychologists Types (APT), USA and Executive Coaching by Prof Marshall Goldmith .He is a Certified Executive Coach by Result Coaching and a member of International Coach Federation (ICF).
